The problem is continual adjustment. There Systems are only capable of holding the temperature of the oil and the pressure constant. The problem is that the flow rate varies and can more than double (or be cut in half) depending on the viscosity of the oil. The viscosity of the oil changes continually as different oils are poured into the tank. The different oils tend to layer in the tank, with the higher viscosities settling at the bottom and the lighter oils rising to the top. If the furnace is not continually adjusted, the unit will overfire (which burns out the combustion chamber and shortens the life of the unit) or underfire (which produces insufficient heat).

The Reznor System

This graph shows the Reznor solution. The patented Reznor flow control pump regulates the flow of the various oil viscosities, so there are insignificant changes in the oil flow rate. The correct amount of oil is automatically delivered to the unit, with no adjustments necessary!

Environmental regulations, such as those by the EPA, make you responsible for the proper handling of waste oil at your place of business. You may continue to be responsible even after it has been removed regardless of who generated the waste oil, how it was removed, or who removed it.
